MyBeruf is a speaking practice app for international professionals who live in Germany and speak German at B1 to C1. You answer a real question out loud, the kind you hear in a job interview, a team meeting or your naturalisation appointment, and MyBeruf shows you exactly which words to fix. Your own mistakes come back in later questions until you say them right.

It is built for one gap: you understand your colleagues and read every email, but when someone asks you a direct question, your German freezes. More input doesn't close that gap. Speaking, being corrected and speaking again does.

How does MyBeruf work?

  1. Pick a situation. A first job interview, a Jour fixe with your boss, a call with a client, or your naturalisation appointment. You can also describe a situation of your own or paste a job ad, and MyBeruf drafts the questions you're likely to hear.
  2. Answer out loud. Your answer is written down as you said it, mistakes included, so you see your own German, not a polished version of it. You can type instead.
  3. See what to fix. Each mistake comes with the right form and a one-line reason, such as the verb coming second after "Seit 2019", or "für" after "sich interessieren".
  4. Get it back. Revision brings your mistakes back days later, in other questions, until the right form comes out on its own.

What can you practise?

  • Job interviews: three rounds of questions, from "Erzählen Sie etwas über sich" to salary and contract.
  • Your first days at work: meeting the team, getting set up, asking questions.
  • Everyday work: a Jour fixe, team meetings, presentations, client meetings and calls, emails, minutes and reports.
  • Du, Sie and work culture: when to switch to du, and how breaks and team events work. Any question asked with Sie can be switched to du.
  • Your naturalisation appointment: 15 questions an official may ask, from the Grundgesetz to reunification. The feedback checks your facts against quotes from the law, never your opinions.

How is it different from asking a chatbot?

  • It keeps what you said. Many voice tools quietly fix your grammar while they write down what you said. MyBeruf keeps your mistakes, so you see the German you actually speak.
  • Your mistakes come back. A chat forgets them. MyBeruf brings them back in new questions until they're gone.
  • Facts are checked against the law. For the naturalisation appointment, your answers are compared with the Grundgesetz, the citizenship law and other official sources, not with a model's memory.

Who is it for?

International professionals already in Germany, at B1 to C1, who need their German to work in interviews, in meetings and in the Kaffeeküche. It is not exam prep, not a grammar course and not a flashcard app. It has no points, streaks or leaderboards: what grows is your German.

What does it cost?

MyBeruf is free while we test it. After the test, a few things stay free for everyone: trying a question on the homepage, a few checked answers a day, the naturalisation appointment and revising your own mistakes. One monthly plan covers the rest. The details are on Pricing.

What happens to your voice and text?

Your recording is sent to an AI service that turns it into text, and the text is checked by AI. MyBeruf keeps no copy of the recording on its servers: the copy you can play back stays in your browser, and one tap deletes it. Your mistakes stay in your browser too, unless you create an account to keep them on every device. The details are on the privacy page.

Who makes MyBeruf?

MyBeruf is made in Berlin by Aviral, who is learning German too. To try it early, leave your email on the homepage.
